Since about 2007 or maybe earlier, I've been increasingly involved in developing culinary skills. Early on I attended a few Viking Cooking Classes but even before that I accumulated a number of very instructive texts about cooking.
I view cooking as an art form in many ways. The obvious is the sensuality of the tasting. But as I progressed with various art forms (encaustic, watercolor, printmaking, photography, etc.) I realized that the layering of colors played a key role in my enjoyment of cooking. This is especially evident in making various pizzas as well as antipasto salads. Each new ingredient added creates a different color palette and different pattern, not unlike painting.
Here I have provided a few images of some of the products I have made; most are from books or online cooking sites.
